(Reading time: 1 minute)

Slavia Praha footballers have to do without Ondřej Kúdela in Thursday's opening match of the quarterfinals of the European League at the London Arsenal. The key defender of the incumbent Czech champion did not manage to recover from the injury he suffered while performing his national team duties.

The 34-year-old tracker did not even pass the mandatory coronavirus tests ordered by the European Football Union (UEFA) on Monday. He did not train with the team and takes antibiotics. In the match of the World Cup 2022 Wales - Czech Republic (1: 0) he collected an elbow to Gareth Balea and did not even play in Sunday's league duel in Brno (0: 0). "After returning from Wales, he was free on Thursday, he trained easily on Friday, but he was not well. He has a nose injury plus a fever," coach Jindřich Trpišovský was quoted as saying by the idnes.cz portal.
